Course Description: The culmination of Monkey Business Institute’s shortform classes, Level Five focuses on performance. In this class, you’ll learn the mechanics of a great improv show, how to host, how to DJ and how to create a show with flow from beginning to end. With multiple performances and a smaller class, you’ll get maximum stage time and maximum experience in all aspects of a brilliant performance.

Class Dates: Mondays, September 14, 2026 to October 26, 2026, 6:30pm to 9:30pm at Wil-Mar Neighborhood Center (Youth Room).

Teacher Bio: Vanessa Tortolano began performing when she was 5 years old. Involved with theatre and musical theatre through grade, middle and high school. She also did some community theatre before moving to LA to pursue acting. Not being the healthiest environments, she moved to Madison and became involved with music, improv and stand up comedy, which she continues to do today. Vanessa is a professional performer with many years of eclectic performance experience. She is also well versed in providing education for several modalities on the stage and oﬀ with people of all ages.
