Description

Course Description: The Femme-prov Level 1 class will introduce you to the basics of improv and “yes, and”, all in a fun and femme atmosphere! You will learn the foundational rules of improv which inform how to build a scene from a simple suggestion. You will learn how to quickly think on your feet, collaborate with and support your scene partners, and find new and exciting ways to progress a scene. Once you’re warmed up, you’ll start playing improv games you may have seen on TV or at an MBI show! This class culminates with you and your classmates naming your team and putting on a special performance for your family and friends!
There will be lots of fun, lots of laughs, lots of “a-ha!”, and lots of connection. We hope to see you there!

*Note: This class will be taught by femme improviser, Shauna Jungdahl, and only accepts femme or femme-identifying students. Our goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and welcoming atmosphere to femme and femme-identifying individuals.

  • Teacher Bio: Shauna Jungdahl — Shauna believes improv can change lives (for the better!) and wants that same experience for her students. She sees improv as a powerful tool for building confidence, personal growth, community, and finding the fun in new and unexpected places. Her teaching centers on creating a welcoming, friendly, supportive, and inspiring environment—one that also encourages students to challenge themselves. Shauna loves helping people discover what they’re capable of and feel surprised and proud of their growth. She has led local femme improv jams and is excited to take things a step further by teaching femme‑forward classes. Shauna believes these spaces are invaluable for improvisers who may not feel fully supported elsewhere, and she is committed to helping students find joy in improv while also feeling safe. In addition to leading jams, she produces and hosts semi‑monthly improv shows, co‑facilitates improv workshops. Outside of improv, she writes and performs with Madison’s premier sketch comedy troupe, Lucid Dreaming. She’s excited to meet you—let’s have fun!
