Where Improv Meets Standup! Improv + Standup = Comedy Magic
Stand-up and improv comedy are longtime rivals, but they have more in common with each other than practitioners from either side would like to admit. “The Merge” blends quick-witted club stand-up comedians with Monkey Business Institute’s cast of professional improvisers to create a show that gives comedy aficionados the best of both worlds. Hosted by Vanessa “Pants” Tortolano.
Featuring Reier Cammerman and Andrew Rynning:
–Andrew Rynning is a Madison, WI based comedian, improviser, and writer. He is originally from Milton, WI which is widely regarded as unfortunate for all parties involved. Andrew has been doing standup since 2015, improv since 2018, and writing since he discovered he is terrible at math.
—Reier’s comedy is a sincere autobiography of the strange and hilarious events that have made her who she is today. She’s often described as “strange and confusing”.
Raised in Lumberton TX, Reier combines southern charm with her unique view of current events to offer a refreshing perspective to the audience. Growing up in musical theater, she has a natural stage presence and acting ability that allow her to appear both loose and in control at the same time.
In addition to comedy, Reier unicycles competitively and owns 5 disabled pugs. She acknowledges that this is ridiculous and excessive.
